I Thought I Knew a Blackbird.

I thought I knew a Blackbird.
I watched glistening, dark Wings capture the Colors of the Sun,
I dreamed his soul was blue like the Sky, like Truth

"God sent me," he said, "God sent me to love You."
But when I stepped aside, I saw that he was looking at his reflection.
Stunned, mesmerized, I stared, questioning.
"you?" he scoffed, "you are plain, a sparrow....
and your mountains hide the Sunset that was made for Me."

This strange Creature yearned for crimson skies,
Colors he only thought he remembered,
but his Wings could not take him there.
They were steel, not flesh, cold and numb, and He did not know the way..

He sheltered under fiery brambles and called "Follow me!"
Entranced, I did,
My wings were marked by the blowing Embers. The Thorns tore into my breast.
"I am a Tree. You will see."
And so I tried to hold Him up and let Him be a Tree.

But there were no roots, and he fell,
those Cold Wings pinned me there, lifeless.
Until a sparkle caught his eye, and the Thief stumbled away.

There is no image still in existance for this. It became part of the sacrifice. This is a portrait of the beautiful, fiery Blackbird. If I'd had a million dollars, I'd have bet that this was real...

When I saw that it was not True, and yet before I knew what was, The Blackbird was torn into pieces and reshaped into the trees you see here.

In the end, the image of tree would not prove true, and the work was burned in the fire.
"Bitterness is like Cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns all clean."

What Does the Deep Sea Say?

Needed to put some imagery with this lovely old song for a while now.. It fits. Take a listen.
"He sleeps at the bottom of the deep blue sea, and he can't come back to me..."
And this came off the easel this week... Kyman finds that place where makers go to make things right.
